ABOUT RLEK

The Rural Litigation and Entitlement Kendra [RLEK] is a charitable organisation in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, working for underprivileged and marginalized communities in that region.

INTERNSHIP

RLEK has opened applications for winter internships cum volunteering opportunities for law students. The mission of the organisation is to empower indigenous groups, marginalised populations, women and children and to help them claim their rights and entitlements .

Thus the internship is aimed at understanding the difference and bridging the gap between legality and the ground-level reality, which involves the following:• Working for and with the marginalised communities on issues such as spreading education, legal literacy, community mobilization, governance, health.• The students will be trained on the aforesaid issues and will be provided with practical insights to fill the gap between legality and reality.• They will be assigned tasks under the supervision of professionals.• Exposure visits for students in remote areas.• Understanding the problems of the people and learning how work is being conducted for improvement of their situation.
