Shramdaan

“So long as you do not take the broom and the bucket in your hands, you-cannot make your towns and cities clean.” – Mahatma Gandhi.

With the Mahatma Gandhi as our inspiration and the ‘Swachh Bharat’ dream as our goal, we at YIMF organized ‘Shramdaan’, a cleanliness drive on 2nd October 2018 in Rajindra Hospital, Patiala.

The event featured the cleaning of the hospital premises by the volunteers who covered the open areas such as the garden, corridors, etc. of the same. The volunteers were divided into teams of 8-10 and each team was led by a doctor who supervised the mission.

The Mayor of Patiala graced the event with their presence as the Chief Guest. A motivational speech by the mayor and doctors acted as a trigger for the volunteers to carry out the cleanliness drive with full vigour.

This was the first of such events carried out by YIMF and the NGO hopes to continue with it.
