1. RIGHTS OF PRISONERS BY ADV. MANISHA BHANDARI

A prisoner; whether a convict, under-trial or a detenu is legally entitled to all his fundamental rights as any other citizen unless his liberty has been constitutionally curtailed. Supreme Court in many cases has held that a prisoner is a human being, a natural person and also a legal person. As budding legal professionals, we need to be well aware of the constitutional rights of the prisoners and henceforth, ensure that they are not deprived of basic fundamental rights that they are entitled to.


Keeping this context in mind, YIMF Academia conducted a webinar on the topic “Rights of Prisoners”. Our guest speaker for the session was Adv. Manisha Bhandari who is currently a practicing advocate in Supreme Court.
